Love and Logic seminar taught by Dr. Charles Fay is taking place on Tuesday, April 16th from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in Layton. If you are not familiar with Love and Logic it is a tried and true discipline philosophy that gives you great tools to teach your children responsibility and healthy boundaries. Our teachers have been trained in this philosophy and we offered an evening parent seminar last year that was really well received. The 2019 Elementary State Chess Championship will be held at Freedom Prep Academy in Provo this year. Register here or at utahchess.com. Several hundred players are expected, and students will play six games with others in their own grade. Registration is open to all K-6 students--no qualifying meet is required. We are interested in starting a Chess Club at ICS next year as we know chess teaches great problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
