Winter Read-Aloud Challenge

Winter Read-Aloud Challenge

During the month of February, our ICS reading community will continue celebrating the gift of reading with a Winter Read-Aloud Challenge. Students will need to be responsible for keeping track of their daily read-aloud sessions on the calendar above.

GOAL: Become GREAT readers by reading-aloud!

REWARD: Reading-aloud with confidence and clarity! One class prize and five individual prizes for top reading minutes.

REQUIREMENTS: Read-aloud 10 minutes a day, record daily and turn in to teacher by February 28.

CELEBRATION: There will be two class prizes (1 class prize for grades ECE-2nd grade and 1 class prize 3rd-5th grades). The class that has the most X's (representing 10 minutes of reading time) wins a "reading themed" game celebration. No more than one X per day is permitted.

FOR FUN: During the last week of February classes will enjoy wearing clothes that make you think of your favorite story book character, author or illustrator. In honor of Dr. Seuss, claim March 1 as the day you wear your favorite Dr. Seuss story character.
