Camp ICS Jr.

(PreK-2nd Grade)

Camp ICS is a summer camp ministry of Intermountain Christian School (ICS) for children age 4 (by June 1) through students that are entering the 2nd grade. The camp runs for nine weeks of the summer from June 3rd through August 2. For kiddos 3rd to 6th grade, Check out Camp ICS!

Exciting update!  Our 2nd graders will now be part of our Camp Jr. program.  What this means for them: Specific field trips designated for them, participation in campus activities, water days on campus, and bike days!  No naps for these kids, we have too much packed into their days for that!

 

How to register for camp

Step 2: Complete your registration, sign up for a specific week or weeks you want to participate in

Step 1: Complete a general registration passing along basic information on your child, shirt size, allergies, etc.

Dates & Times

Morning kick-off rally

  • Week of June 3rd to August 2nd 

  • Week of July 1: no Thursday camp

  • Camp timeframe: 9am-3pm M-F

  • Earliest campers can arrive: 7:30am

  • Latest campers can leave without paying for aftercare: 3:15pm

  • Latest campers can leave with paying for aftercare: 5:45pm

Pricing*

  • One time registration fee: $10

  • One week of camp w/out after care: $250

  • One week of camp w/ after care: $325

  • One day of camp w/out after care: $60

  • One day of camp w after care: $75

Discounts

  • Early bird discount: $40 off weekly rates if you register by February 29, 2024

  • Sibling discount: $40 off weekly rates beginning with the second registered sibling

What to Wear to Camp

  • Close-toed shoes that are good for running

  • Clothes that are suitable for playing inside and outside during the summer

  • Clothes that do not display vulgarity or advocate for causes contrary to the teachings of the Bible

What to Bring to Camp

  1. Backpack or tote

  2. Cold lunch that does not need to be microwaved

  3. Water bottle

  4. Snack (campers who stay for after care will be provided a second snack)

  5. Sunscreen, sun glasses, and a hat (if desired for outdoor activities)

  6. Sleeping mat and pillow for Pre-K, and Kindergarten (optional for first graders)  2nd grade will not take naps. Extra change of clothes

    2. Traveling Tuesdays - Camp ICS Jr. shirt

    3. Water Wednesdays - modest swimsuit and a towel to dry off 

    4. Traveling Thursdays - Camp ICS Jr. shirt

    5. Fun Fridays - Fridays with a field trip, wear your Camp ICS Jr. shirt. Fridays without a field trip, bring a scooter or bicycle.

Weekly Themes

Week of June 3

Theme: Dinosaurs

About the camp: Campers will learn about fossils, dinosaurs, and more prehistoric facts through hands-on experiments and activities. We will also visit a local dinosaur museum!


 Week of June 10

Theme: Bugs & Insects

About the camp: Campers will learn many reasons why they should LOVE bugs and insects as we explore them in wonder through crafts, nature walks, and science activities. We will end the week with Ladybug Organics coming for a visit!


Week of June 17

Theme: Cooking & Baking

About the camp: Campers will release their inner chef this summer at cooking and baking camp! From learning how to utilize raw ingredients to creating quick and easy, yummy dishes, this week is filled with culinary delights.


Week of June 24

Theme: Safari Animals

About the camp: Campers, grab your binoculars and adventure hats, and join us for a week of safari adventures, including a field trip to the Hogle Zoo.


Week of *July 1

Theme: Stars and Stripes

About the camp: Campers will celebrate the United States in honor of Independence Day. They will do fun crafts and activities to make the American experience come to life! We will end the week with a bike parade, BBQ, hot dogs, and bounce houses.

*In observance of Independence Day, Camp ICS will not meet on Thursday, July 4, 2024.


Week of July 8

Theme: Rocks of the Earth

About the camp: Campers will learn all about the incredible intricacies of rocks, erosion, and fossils. We will end the week with a trip to Kennecott Copper Mine!


Week of July 15

Theme: Outer Space

About the camp: Campers will explore outer space to learn about God’s amazing handiwork in planets, black holes, stars and astronauts. We will end our week with a trip to the Clark Planetarium.


Week of July 22

Theme: Transportation

About the camp: We love trains, planes, and automobiles, almost as much as the kiddos! This week campers will explore different types of transportation through art, crafts, and history. We will end our week with a trip to Wild West Park!


Week of july 29

Theme: Art & Music

About the camp: This week campers will experience the wonder of the arts! They will take part in art projects, create music, and dance to end their summer overflowing with creative possibilities.

We will also end our week with large water-based bounce houses and water games to celebrate the end of the summer!

 

FAQs

Q: Will my camper participate in the weekly theme all day long?

No. They will spend 1.5 hours participating in the theme and the rest of the day is filled with Bible stories, group games, and other fun activities.

Q: Will my camper participate in activities with 3rd-6th graders?

No. Camp ICS Jr. (PreK-2nd) is a separate camp from Camp ICS (3rd-6th). Activities are designed specifically for your camper's age group.

Q: What are the counselor to camper ratios?

There is at least one counselor for every eight campers. Each group of campers will have two counselors and no more than fifteen campers.

Q: Will my camper take naps?

Camp ICS Jr. campers will have an opportunity to rest daily. Rising PreK and K will have a dedicated rest time to nap. Rising 1st graders will have a designated quiet time, where they can nap if needed. 2nd graders will not take naps.

Q: Can I register my camper register for individual days?

Yes.

Q: Can I register my camper for half days?

No.

Q: Can I be refunded for days I keep my camper home?

If you give one week's notice of cancellation, you will receive a full refund. Otherwise, your payment will not be refunded.

Q: Do I have to pay for everything up front?

The preliminary registration fee of $10 is due immediately. The fee for each week of camp is due seven days before that particular week of camp begins.

Q: Does my camper have to attend ICS to come to camp?

No. In the summer of 2023, 68% of our campers were not ICS students.

Q: My camper is 3 years old. Can he or she attend camp?

If your camper turns 4 by June 1, 2024, then they can attend camp. Otherwise, we'll see them next summer!
