Intermountain Christian School desires to equip and inspire its students to cultivate those gifts in order to thrive in God's world. We do this in multiple ways, all integrating a biblical worldview. We offer speech and debate; music in the form of concert band, jazz band, chapel band, hand bell choirs, and vocal ensembles; theater; and visual arts expressed in painting, ceramics, and photography. We invite our students to explore their talents and grow outside of their comfort zones in trying new avenues by which to glorify God.

 What We Offer

Fine Arts

The philosophy of the Elementary Art Department is explore, discover, and share. Explore art and the world around you, discover art and the artist within you, and finally, share art through finished works. In the Upper School we offer a number of Fine Arts options including Ceramics, Painting, & Independent Studies. ICS students have opportunity to explore and discover the creative process individually and as a community.

Instrumental Music

ICS offers concert band, chapel band, and handbell choirs. Beginning Band starts in 5th grade and students go on to audition for their chosen band in Upper School. ICS students were blessed to have piqued the interest of a composer to commission a piece to be premiered by our students during our annual Spring Concert. Instruments and music are rich ways to add to your student’s experience at ICS.

Vocal Ensemble

Our vocal ensemble is a shining example of our philosophy of education in action. Our students have numerous opportunities to perform around the Salt Lake Valley including nursing homes and Globetrotters Games. One of the greatest and most unique experiences ICS offers is Music Tour, an outreach to underprivileged children. This is a perfect example of a FLEX experience in our high school

Dance

In the dance program, our desire is to provide an opportunity for students to explore the art of dance, discover their ability to move creatively, and to share creative movement through worship. Our focus is on Jesus in all that we do!

Concerts & Art Shows

The Spring Concert for both elementary and secondary students showcase the culmination of work the students have accomplished throughout the year. The many ICS performing art groups prepare pieces that reflect their musical growth and abilities. Ranging from beginning bells and bands all the way through high school choir and instrumental ensembles, the Spring Concert is without fail, a highlight of the school year for students and families alike.

Theater

We provide students the opportunity to participate in multiple drama productions throughout the school year that allow them to grow their abilities as performers and communicators. Producing both middle school and high school productions, ICS seeks to choose material that is wholesome and edifying, as well as challenging and entertaining.
