Camp ICS

(3rd-6th Grade)

Camp ICS is a summer camp ministry of Intermountain Christian School (ICS) catering to children from 3rd-6th grade. The camp runs for ten weeks of the summer from June 3 - July 29th, 2024. For kiddos PreK to 2nd grade, Check out Camp ICS Jr.

 

How to register for camp

Step 1: Complete a general registration passing along basic information on your child, shirt size, allergies, etc.

Step 2: Complete your registration, sign up for a specific week or weeks you want to participate in

Dates & Times

  • Camp runs from June 3rd through July 29th

  • Week of July 3: no Tuesday camp

  • Camp timeframe: 9am-3pm M-F

  • Earliest campers can arrive: 7:30am

  • Latest campers can leave without paying for aftercare: 3:15pm

  • Latest campers can leave with paying for aftercare: 5:45pm

  • One time registration fee: $10

  • One week of camp w/out after care: $250

Discounts

  • Early bird discount: $40 off weekly rates if you register by February 29, 2024

  • Sibling discount: $40 off weekly rates beginning with the second registered sibling

What to Wear to Camp

  1. Close-toed shoes that are good for running

  2. Clothes that are suitable for playing inside and outside during the summer

  3. Clothes that do not display vulgarity or advocate for causes contrary to the teachings of the Bible

What to Bring to Camp

  1. Backpack or a tote

  2. Cold lunch that does not need to be microwaved

  3. Water bottle

  4. Snack (campers who stay for after care will be provided a second snack)

  5. Sunscreen, sun glasses, and a hat (if desired for outdoor activities)

  6. Modest bathing suit to change into and towel (for Wednesdays only)

Weekly Themes

Week of may 27

Theme: Soccer (Partial-Day Camp)

About the camp: Impact City FC is partnering with ICS to host a soccer camp on our campus! Impact City FC helps kids discover their purpose, grow as leaders, and change the world. Under the careful instruction of their professional coaches each camper will grow in their technical and tactical understanding of the game. Through daily Team Talks, campers are challenged to develop faith-based character and express the leadership values learned from their coaches. Each camper receives a FREE t-shirt and a chance to win prizes.


 Week of June 3

Theme #1: Duct Tape gone WILD!

About the camp: Join us for a week of Duct Tape camp, where creativity knows no bounds. Laurie Roe will lead campers in the art of transforming everyday Duct Tape into extraordinary pieces - from wallets, handbags, belts, bow ties and bookmarks to adorable zoo animals, water bottle holders, coasters and pencil holders. Not only does Duct Tape camp provide a fun and interactive environment, but it also enhances essential skills such as fine motor coordination, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving.

Theme #2: Mystery Book Adventures

About the camp: “The game is afoot!” Join ICS Librarian Mrs. Parker for a week of Mystery Book Adventures! Campers will read classic mysteries and investigate and solve their own through cooperative gameplay.


 Week of June 10

Theme #1: Flag Football

About the camp: Campers will learn the fundamentals of one of the most historic sports in America. You will run drills, play games, and take part in fun competitions. Join ICS Dean of Elementary Mr. Hobbs to learn about the amazing sport of Football!

Theme #2: Around the World

About the camp: Campers join me as we will be taking a trip around the world! Learning about a different country’s culture every day, while tasting the vaste cuisine of these amazing countries! Join our spanish teacher Mrs.Guy on this trip around the world!


Week of June 17

Theme #1: Basketball

About the camp: Campers will learn the fundamentals of the greatest game on earth! You will run drills, play games, and take part in fun competitions. Join ICS Dean of Elementary Mr. Hobbs to have a ball!

Theme #2: Art

About the camp: Attention all Campers! Learn about the amazing world of art. You will be learning to paint, draw, as well as learning to express yourself through the amazing gift of art that God has given us. Join local artist Mr.Foster on this amazing journey through the arts!




Week of June 24

Theme #1: Board Games

About the camp: Welcome to the wonderful world of board and card games! Here you'll learn new, exciting games that aren't just your standard classics like Monopoly, Uno, or Life. Join me at the tables to move some meeples and roll some dice! Join our Board Game fanatic Mr.Prum for this week full of games!

Theme #2: Italian Cuisine

About the camp: Fifth and Sixth graders, let's take a trip to Italy. We will be learning how to make pasta from scratch, bread, and different sauces, then come together and enjoy our creation.Third and Fourth graders, We will take a journey through the land of sweets, where happiness and creativity meet. Learning the importance of measuring your ingredients. Join our first grade teacher Ms.Hubbs on this Italian/sweet tooth adventure!


Week of July 1

Theme: Stars & Stripes

About the camp: Campers will celebrate the United States in honor of Independence Day. They will enjoy learning about our nation and do fun, crafty activities to make the American experience come to life! Join us for a week of red, white, and blue fun!

*In observance of Independence Day, Camp ICS will not meet on Thursday, July 4, 2023.


Week of July 8

Theme #1: Survivor 

About the camp:  During survivor week campers will participate in various obstacle courses, involving water games, their bikes and scooters, and much more. Campers will work individually and as a team to complete tasks and win fun prizes. At the end of the week after completing all the courses campers will celebrate with a medals day. Join ICS alumna Ms. Burk to see if you can survive the week!

Theme #2: Soccer

About the camp: Campers will learn the basics of the most played sport in the world, soccer! We will learn how to become better players as well as learning how teamwork is important in not only sports, but life as well. Join ICS alumna Brynn Smith to hang out and Kick it!


Week of July 15

Theme #1: Wonders of the Ocean

About the camp: Campers will spend the week discovering the deepest mysteries of the oceans that cover our planet. We will be Learning about sea creatures and every animal that relies on the oceans for survival, by doing crafts and games! Join our Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Smith with this week full of the deepest mysteries!

Theme #2: Sports Mayhem

About the camp: Campers get ready for Sport Mayhem! From obstacle courses to kickball, you will get to experience the wide variety of amazing athletic activities that makes up our world of sports. Join Mr. Smith in a week full of sports, teamwork and fun!


Week of July 22

Theme #1: Mystery Week

About the camp: This week is full of surprises, a week with a variety of activities that lead to a source of amazement. We will give you one hint, we would recommend bringing a swimsuit on Wednesday! Join ICS alumna Makenna Stodddard, as well as current ICS Seniors, Ellie Menning and Elaine Lunceford for a week full of the unexpected!

Theme #2: Theater

About the camp: Campers will spend their time learning the fundamentals of acting, singing, and dancing. We will be working towards an end of week production to perform for the rest of camp! Campers will learn to work with each other through interactive games and rehearsals. Join ICS alumnae Ms. Leonard, for a drama-filled week!


Week of july 29

Theme #1: Stem

About the camp: Join Ms.Reed as you take on the STEM world! This week you are going to learn all about how to build, test, and execute experiments with multiple different exciting activities. There will be building bridges, volcanoes and other fun activities! Teamwork, problem solving, and fun is what we are striving for this week. Get ready to take a giant leap into the STEM world and to put on your creative thinking caps for a week with loads of challenges and fun! 

Theme #2: Volleyball

About the camp: Join two former ICS volleyball state champions for a week full of learning, fun, and friendship! Each day your student can be immersed into the world of volleyball with interactive drills, skill clinics, and games. We will have a color theme for each day, so come decked out in gear for the chance to win prizes! We believe God has uniquely chosen the strengths of each student, and we want to see the best they can give! Join ICS alumnae Brenna Pickett and America Johnson for an action packed week!

 
 

FAQs

Will my camper participate in both themes offered each week?

No. Your camper will choose to participate in one of the two themes.

Will my camper participate in the weekly theme all day long?

No. They will spend 1.5 hours participating in the theme and the rest of the day is filled with Bible stories, group games, and other fun activities.

Will my camper participate in activities with PreK-2nd graders?

No. Camp ICS Jr. (PreK-2nd) is a separate camp from Camp ICS (3rd-6th). Activities are designed specifically for your camper's age group.

Are 3rd-6th grade campers in a group all together?

For the first part of the day campers are broken up into 2nd-3rd graders and 4th-6th graders. In the afternoons, 2nd-6th grade campers take part in field trips together.

What are the counselor to camper ratios?

There is at least one counselor for every thirteen campers. Each group of campers will have two counselors and no more than twenty-five campers.

Can I register my camper register for individual days?

Yes.

Can I register my camper for half days?

No.

Can I be refunded for days I keep my camper home?

If you give one week's notice of cancellation, you will receive a full refund. Otherwise, your payment will not be refunded.

Do I have to pay for everything up front?

The preliminary registration fee of $10 is due immediately. The fee for each week of camp is due seven days before that particular week of camp begins.

Does my camper have to attend ICS to go to camp?

No. In the summer of 2022, 65% of our campers were not ICS students.
