The Educational Environment at ICS
Since 1982, our early childhood educators have helped preschool-aged children build a strong foundation for the start of elementary school. PreK teachers design lessons that meet children where they are while encouraging independence, curiosity, and spiritual growth.
Learning through play and discovery
The right environment can make all the difference for your child. You can expect your child to have a uniquely Christian and nurturing experience. Everything — from lessons, activities, songs, and crafts — is prayerfully planned and biblically based.
At ICS, our Christian prekindergarten program is designed to nurture children to THRIVE, academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually … all in a loving Christ-centered environment.

Get to Know the ICS PreK Teacher: Mrs. Elisabeth Osborne
Elisabeth LOVES teaching four-year-olds. She brings her faith into the classroom by teaching her students how to pray by example, as well as pointing them to Jesus through various situations in the classroom. Everyday she shows them the love and grace she’s received from Jesus.
Seeing her students grow throughout the year and learning their personalities motivates her to come to work each day, looking forward to giving and receiving high fives and hugs at the beginning of each day.
When she’s not at work, Elisabeth can be found spending time with her family. They ski in the winter, camp in the summer, and are involved in their church.
Here’s what Elisabeth says about why she teaches at ICS:
“I joined the team here because I wanted to be a part of a Christian community. I wanted to be able to instill in these young children how much God loves them and what he did for us on the cross. And I love that I can integrate that truth into every part of my day.
When I have a child in my room who is anxious, we stop and pray. We pray for God’s peace. I just love that I can share with them — at this vital time when they are young and moldable — to train them up in the way they should go, that when they are old, they will depart from it (Proverbs 22:6)
What an awesome blessing and privilege to get these kids ready to be young adults in this next generation. We have an opportunity to get them ready for this crazy world that we live in.”
“Everyone is amazing. My son is getting a quality learning experience. The staff exude the quality and love of God. I’m happy my son is safe and enjoys going to school every day.”

Play-Based Learning

They will also develop creativity through various arts and crafts and electives. They’ll also get their wiggles out while running, jumping, and climbing through an engaging and age-appropriate PreK-5 playground.
Kindergarten Readiness
Throughout the year, we’ll work diligently to prepare your child academically, socially, and spiritually for kindergarten. Children learn school etiquette and routines and develop sharing, collaboration, and communication skills. Additionally, students are exposed to letters, handwriting, numbers, and beginning math, science, and social studies topics.
Safety Features
We want every parent to feel comfortable sending their kids to school every day. Entrances are kept secure, classroom doors remain locked at all times, and a modern schoolwide security camera system is in place. Security officers are on duty throughout the day. Additionally, visitors are required to have their IDs scanned, and chaperones or volunteers must undergo a state background check.
